Considering Homeschooling

Dear Considering Homeschooling Moms

I pray that God is giving you strength and wisdom for the challenging but wonderful task of raising your kids up in the Lord.  Considering Homeschooling exists to help those trying to make a decision about whether to homeschool, to prepare those who intend on homeschooling in the future, and to assist those who have already started homeschooling but feel they need to do more research.

At our monthly meetings, we delve into the details of homeschooling. To get us to roll up our sleeves and start investigating the many aspects of Christian home education, we urge you to read a homeschool related book each month, and share some ideas from it at our meeting (or, bring a book, video, CD, etc. that you recommend).  We try to have an experienced homeschool mom as a guest speaker at each meeting, to find out how she does things (and they each do it differently --within the realm of Biblical homeschooling, there is a great variety of materials, methods, etc. ).

For those wanting more fellowship, we recently decided to have more frequent educational outings (field trips) instead of park days, which were not as high interest.  Our two field trip coordinators, Vicki and Robin, are creating a fun and educational outings schedule for us  – we’ll keep you posted.  Also, as you meet moms in the group that you connect with, we encourage you to form your own playgroups.

While there is much to be grieved over in this world, I rejoice when I see parents like you taking the time to find out what they can to do really raise their kids in Jesus. Please give us any ideas and feedback you have.  If you aren’t receiving our emails, please email me.
